…and Quoteline Direct ‘unsponsor’ EFL League 2 action

Not content with making waves at the rugby union, Quoteline Direct also took part in the first-ever ‘Unsponsored Derby’ between Macclesfield Town and Newport County on Tuesday 17th September.

On the same night as the UEFA Champions League action began in earnest, this Sky Bet EFL League 2 match had the first silverware of the season on offer as part of Paddy Power’s ‘Save Our Shirt’ campaign, with both sides coming together without a sponsor’s name on their shirts.

With most of Macclesfield Town’s sponsors agreeing to ‘unsponsor’ the game, Quoteline Direct’s name disappeared from the pitch side for the match which ended in a 1-1 draw and a share of the silverware – which will be competed for again in the reverse fixture in January next year.
