Whirlpool issues urgent recall for affected tumble dryers. Find out if yours is one of them.

If you have a tumble dryer in your home, you’re a landlord with a tumble dryer in your property, or you’re a tenant in a property with a tumble dryer, you might want to check it now.

Whirlpool are urgently recalling a number of tumble dryers sold under their Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline brands, as there is a potential risk of dryers overheating due to an issue identified with the build-up of lint in certain models.

Tumble dryers sold under the Whirlpool brand itself are not affected by the recall.

The affected models were manufactured between 2004 and 2015, and while more than 1.7 million tumble dryers have already been checked, there are likely to be many more machines out there that have yet to be inspected.

Whirlpool are offering a number of options for customers with models affected by the recall, including free replacements, the option to upgrade for £59, to have an engineer repair the machine, or to obtain a refund, depending on the age of the machine.
